From classic to contemporary: exquisite hotel rooms and suites

The history of Eden Amsterdam American Hotel dates back to the early 20th century and the iconic building is officially listed as a monument. During the past two years, the hotel underwent sweeping renovations to restore the glory of the past and introduce the latest amenities to go beyond the expectations of today’s guests. This luxurious hotel offers the utmost in comfort, with Classic and Deluxe rooms, Junior suites and even two very special theme suites: Mata Hari and Ruud de Wild.

The Mata Hari is named after the famed Dutch courtesan, dancer and spy. One of the largest suites in the entire hotel, the Mata Hari offers stunning views of Amsterdam’s canals and the lively Leidseplein. Dutch DJ and artist Ruud de Wild personally designed his namesake split-level suite, which includes design furniture and two large flatscreen ’ambilight’ televisions.

Location, location, location: Amsterdam hotel rooms with a view, a balcony and more

When you want a luxurious hotel in the centre of Amsterdam featuring comfortable rooms, elegant design, outstanding service, a great location plus convenient access to Schiphol, look no further than Eden Amsterdam American Hotel. The design hotel offers 175 non-smoking rooms divided into Classic and Deluxe rooms, Junior suites and two special theme suites: the Mata Hari suite and the Ruud de Wild Art suite. All rooms feature comfortable beds with soft mattresses, down filled duvets and quality pillows; flatscreen tv; well-stocked minibar; modern Art Deco styled bathrooms, each with bath; big fluffy towels; warm and soft bathrobe; and 24-hour room service and in-room dining.

Some of the Classic rooms offer spectacular views of the canals while others overlook the lively Leidseplein. Most of the Deluxe rooms have a balcony with a comfortable seat to take in the views. All rooms are non-smoking and have air-conditioning.

All of the Junior suites have a separate sitting area and some even have a balcony with a wonderful view of Amsterdam.

The two design suites offer a one-of-a-kind Dutch experience, with the Mata Hari embracing a romantic icon from the past, and the Ruud de Wild sharing the vision of a contemporary DJ, artist and personality.

An Amsterdam icon restored to its rightful glory

Established in 1900 as the Amsterdam American Hotel, this Amsterdam landmark was a celebrated luxury hotel for many years, attracting business and leisure travelers from all over the world. Officially listed as a monument, both the building and the hotel got a new lease on life in 2005 when the Dutch Eden Hotel Group took over the property in 2005. Sweeping renovations and a new management team ushered a new era of deluxe hotel accommodation in Amsterdam. In fact, the tremendous effort, investment and dedication earned the Eden Amsterdam American Hotel the Dutch Hotel Award 2008, chosen by an independent peer jury. The hotel rooms pay tribute to the glorious past with Art Deco styled bathrooms and embrace the exciting present, offering modern amenities designed to meet the needs and wishes of today’s savvy travelers.
